Community Engineer

PlanetScale is looking for a Community Engineer to build, nurture, and maintain a welcoming technical community around their database platform. In this role, you'll be the voice of their developer community, engaging directly with engineers building on PlanetScale, answering technical questions, and creating educational content that empowers developers to build better with MySQL, Vitess, and Postgres. The role involves active community engagement across platforms like Discord, Reddit, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube. You'll answer technical questions about databases, monitor conversations to identify trends, and create educational content in multiple formats including tutorials, guides, video demonstrations, livestreams, conference talks, and meetup presentations. You'll also help identify and support community champions, collaborate with product engineering teams to gather feedback, and represent PlanetScale at conferences and community events. The ideal candidate will translate complex database concepts into accessible content for developers of all skill levels.
